I wanted to do a build like yours, but I honestly had no idea it could turn out so insanely good.. been rolling around the idea of a JBJ frag tank on an 8020 stand with light bar.. my GF loved your build, which puts me 6 steps ahead.[/QUOTE]

eheh i had to do a 3D model in Sketup and show my wife what it would like before getting the approval! But in all honesty, it came out nicer than i initially taught! Please post your light fixture when you got it done :) I can't wait to receive my tank and put it on lol!

Great looking stand!!! I'm building my stand out of Aluminum extrusion also. I'm using the 1.5 x 1.5 and getting all my hardware from T-Nutz.

All parts fro 80/20
All packaged extremely well

Why didn’t I go with Black? I wanted it to stand out. Measured and locked everything in.. I wanted to do this without moving the 600 lb frigging TV stand... I manage to roll it into place

The swivel arms are the stationary one.. they can be moved with a
Little pressure. Don’t tighten the pivot screws, use lock-tight.

2” square bar with 1” light arms.. 90* swivels.

I’ve got some hardware I’ll incorporate, and some I need to order... also need some shorter screws and a little custom hardware.. also the second light Kessil H160 comes in next week.. I’ll post when I’m done with the final hardware installed....

But you get the idea... dang this system is solid and sweet..
I love the look, customizable, solid.

Also, the bar can be moved to the center of the stand and lights dropped over a second tank... I also plan a 2” bar across the back that I nad slip a small table into.. all kinds of possibilities

where did you get the wood panels from? how are they mounted?

The panels are pine project panels from Lowe’s. I cut them to size then sanded them, stained them with a stain called gunstock and put a few coats of polyurethane on them.

I haven’t decided how I want to mount them yet as I’m tossing up making them removable. I may mount my dosers on the side wall which means removable won’t work. They are tight enough to just sit in there

Hardware from a Makers Hanger..

Found a bolt that fit and slides in the track.. I’ll add some Teflon washers and make it a twist lock... light can also run up/down the cable.. love it
