I am using a clear 50 gal plastic tote for my sump , could I build a refugium in the plastic tote? My tank is a 140 gal rimless and has been running for about 9 months now. If so where to start ?? Thanks Kim

I wouldn't try it, I have heard of some plastic containers leaching nasties into the water over time.

See if it is nsf safe or find one that is. Nsf is national sanitation foundation, they're the ones that certify if things are good enough to use for food service.
