Title says it all. Do not use it underwater. I was weary when I got it in the mail 1month and half ago and called immediately the customer service line from BRS. According to Connor, it is safe to use underwater and he stated that they use it all the time at BRS. Lately, I have been losing corals due to STN for unknown reason. Lost a mystic sunset monti, joe the coral, big colony of red planet, and a few more for some reason. no addition of new corals or fish. yesterday i got fed up and cleaned the entire sump and took out all of the equipment for deep clean. And lo-behold look at what I found. I have 2 of these valves and both have rusts on them. Just to be 100% up front, I can't contribute the loss of corals to the rusts from both of these valves, but please don't use it, at least not underwater.

FYI, my tank is 40B with mostly Sps and a 20 gallon sump that holds about 15gallon of water.

I don't believe that's your problem. I'd continue to investigate to find out what's impacting your livestock.

which is the reason why I can't say the loss of corals is due to this. but definitely don't use it underwater. consider it a public service announcement. also, kinda disappointed that I was told it's ok to use underwater.

Ugh gave me a little scare when I saw the title. I got two of those on my BRS media reactors, however they have been underwater for a good 2 1/2 years having sps in the system with no signs of rust on the bolts so I too would have to say that isn't the source of you're problem
