Whatup Reef2Reef!

I have found that it can be hard to give vendors negative feedback. If you order a piece of livestock and you are unhappy with a part or the entire transaction, do you tell the vendor? I'm the type of person that will say it the way it is and I think it turns out to not be worth it. Its a double edged sword, try and help a vendor become better and be a bad guy or say nothing and move on. I'm talking about privately telling the vendor about your bad experience.

Do you ever give negative feedback?

btw, just for clarification, ALL the vendor/sponsors on Reef2Reef rock!!!

Waz up Kris!HAHA!

I havent had any problems with anyone on here,so I havent had to leave bad feed back at all.Honestly though,if there is an issue,I will leave negitive feed back,I will not lie to make one look good, not somthing I do.If they were in the wrong,I will make sure they know they were in the wrong.

Waz up!!! lol

I don't leave feedback to let the public know about my experience. I usually only give negative feedback in private to a company when I like the company and want to do more business with them in the future. I will tell them why I was unhappy with the transaction and create some dialogue. They can learn about ways to improve their business and have an opportunity to make me happy. I find that it can make me look like I'm a bad guy, someone that complains.

LOL

Ya,I think its kinda rude to publicly post that negitive info, but I do somehow, let them know the issue, weather it be a PM,email, etc,it does get back to them one way or another.

Honestly, I have talked to some vendors and told them that I'm not satisfied, but I rarely leave them bad feedback.

I believe anyone in business wants to know if something is wrong. If you don't say anything they never know there was a problem that needed solving but assume you will share your displeasure with friends discouraging potential customers. I have never been displeased with any on line vendor but if I had a problem I would notify them and let them fix it. If they did not fix it after several discussions then I would post negative feedback on their site and may even trash them on the boards by fairly stating what happened on both sides and what the result was to warn others.

I don't do it publicly, always in private. I def think its rude to post publicly. But how rude is it to be straight up honest in private? I think many vendors still consider it rude.

I agree with this, if the vendor has more than enough chances to fix something and they keep giving the run around then I feel that other people need to be warned about the vendors shady tactic's.

I have no problem picking up the phone or dropping an email if unsatisfied last resort would be to leave the negative feedback only to save my fellow reefers from the same experience.

Privately, yes,I have no problem letting a vendor know if there was an issue.

I have had to let vendors (on R2R included) know that their service or corals were not what I expected. If done in a private matter and handled professionally, I feel it has the potential to help the vendor become better.

I would like to think most people feel like Skinz and Steamer. You try to fix things behind close doors but if vendor is rude and doesn't help rectify the issue then i would post publicly. This way other potential buyers would know what they might be getting into. I think feedback is key before i buy!

I Definately give vendors negative feedback and the opportunity to address those issues. I find it helps if you as the customer have a clear idea of what you would like to see as a resolution and are open to other options. That being said if the vendor is not willing to resolve the issue and unhelpful I think that other people should be warned about their service. That is one of tge reasons we all share on here, so we can avoid issues and have better more productive reefing experiences.

Agreed with most of what has been said already. If there is a legitimate problem I think it's only fair to talk to the vendor and see if it can be reasonably resolved. I have heard of some cases(not this site) where vendors were totally unwilling to work with the customer. I think customers deserve an honest review of transactions from pervious buyers.

I agree with what was said above, attempt private resolution first, but a customer should never be afraid to give negative feedback publicly. IMO, if you feel like you should warn you friends about a particular vendor after you have completed your transaction and any attempt to resolve the situation, then I feel you should be leaving negative feedback to warn your friends and family here on R2R. In many cases, while I won't leave any negative feedback, I also don't leave positive feedback if it was not a good experience overall. Just my $.02 worth

We feel that you should leave feedback based on your experience. We also believe if you have had a bad experience or are unhappy about something you should contact the vendor first and give them a chance to make things right. We love to hear feedback about us. Positive or negative. It only makes us better!

I think feedback should be left in private and at times in public. Definetely give the vendor an opportunity to address any issues first dont go straight to a messageboard, but personally for those of you who feel it is "rude" to post negative publicly are doing us all a disservice. Most of all I think it hurts the many quality vendors that are out there. If the only feedback people leave in public are the positive ones then "Saintly Coral Company" is on nearly the same footing as "Screw the Customer and Get Rich Quick" company because nobody knows about all the bad experiences. I am not saying a vendor should be raked over coals in public just cause you got a DOA in your shipment or there was a misunderstanding and they made good faith efforts to resolve the issue. There are bad vendors out there and it is best that we all know who they are (I have ordered from a wide variety of vendors and in all but a couple cases had very positive transactions; there have been a couple though that I wish I had been warned away from).

I ordered from a sponsor here on a WYSIWYG site I ordered several small frags got the order & 1 was missing & the others didn't look anything like what I had ordered. emailed them they said they were sorry new guy messed up order & would resend that day. got them & they still were not the ones I ordered. now they maybe the same kind but they def. are not the wysiwyg ones I ordered
I cannot tell if they are the right ones because they almost have no color just sorta a muddy color. I am not good with this sorta thing I have 9 corals & paid for 5 but they have no color. I didn't complain because first I really have a hard time complaining because I got more than what I paid for but I want to complain because I really don't know if I have the ones I paid for and they have no color so how would you all handle this type of situation?

The color can be off due to a number of reasons, including some Photoshop editing on the vendors part, but also things like stress and possibly water/lighting on your end.

I completely agree with this.
