Hey guys, I have seen a couple of different times, that after I frag a coral, I see quite a bit of quick growth in response. Had forgotten until Dougers said something about it. Anything like this happen to you?

yes yes yes. If i have a coral in one spot for over 3 months with no signs of growth I will frag of a piece and BAM some quick growth follows shortly

Many times with frags they will not grow upward until the base of the frag encrusts enough so fragging it again will only irritate it and slow it even more.

Agreed, I myself usually will only do it if the frag or main colony is fully encrusted.
