Hi all!

A local guy got a few gigs in and I was looking at getting one. Was just hoping to know if this one looked pretty healthy? I have a tank ready and also have cipro if need be but was hoping this looked ok to start with.

Thanks!

If you are looking to, those look like they have a decent shot especially if you have a tank to land them in where you can provide treatment if that is needed. Get them outta the store and home early for the best outcomes, imo. GL Beautiful specimen.

They came in last night. Going there now, it’s not an actual store but a guy that sells out of his basement. All the other pics he showed me of anemones, they all looked good.

I have a tank and cipro and lots of spare equipment and lights. If it is healthy, I will more than likely buy and just treat to be safe.

Thank you for the help!

It's really hard to tell if a gig is healthy when freshly imported. I've never seen one with full tentacle extension in a LFS. The photos show gigs that look promising, but be prepared to do the Cipro treatment. As long as it's not deflated or flattened out when you pick it up, I think it's worth a shot.

It looked exactly as the picture showed when I got there. He said it hadn’t deflated all day. Right now it is acclimating. Thanks again for the reassurance.

A little update. I treated with Cipro as a precaution and I didn’t see one single deflate so I put it in the tank this morning. The mouth was a bit open the first day but I contributed this to acclimating.

It seems to be doing extremely well in its spot. It is under a 250w radium with an MP10 for flow in a 40 Breeder for now. The tank is plunged into a 60 gallon frag tank with a 20l sump. This particular tank is approx 4 years old so it is very mature.

Looks pretty great for a new import. Good call on treating as a precaution. I’ve had th best luck when putting them directly into treatment whether I thought they needed it or not. Kind of a pain but worth it. Looks like that one will end up with pretty nice color once it settles in.
