I just took the last test and my cycle is now officially complete. Before I get to the lighting, I made a discovery; I found this guy in there just chillin. I thought everything would be dead by now since my ammonia spiked around 8.0ppm. Not sure what it is (any ideas?). I just think its cool. Anyway, back to my original question...Now that my tank has finished cycling, when should I turn on the lights and for how long? I know about the possibility of causing algea, so, I am not in a hurry to meet that beast.

Yikes that must have come in on your live rock. Solve the aptasia problem before adding anything. You might have more than one they propagate quick!
After that though think fish and cleanup crew! You’re close!

Take the rock out and dust it with kalkwasser. Then scrub the paste around, let it sit for 20 minutes, then rinse it off and put the rock back in.
