I recently had a lot of diatoms and cyno on my sand bed so i pick up a dragon goby to clean it up . Well in the four days that i had him so far he made my sand bed spotless but the one problem i'am having now is here seems to be small sand particles/ debris flouting around in my water. he sifts his sand close to the bottom and most of the sand just goes strait to the bottom but these small particles are going up and making my water look horrible is this normal at first will these particles eventually get skimmed out or will my water always look like this from now on

i dont seem to have that problem with my watchman, he sifts sand through his gills and it just goes straight to the bottom. how fine is your sand bed? you could always turn your flow off for a day or so and see if it will settle.

my sand bed isnt really that fine the sand he sifts goes strait to the bottom i think it more of debris that sand

maybe you could try to use one of those packets they put in the carib sea sand bags, the water clarifier/settler. probably not a long term fix.

yeah vacuum so that all the stuff gets taken out and not left drifting in your tank , hope he doesn't cause nitrate spikes oops ..

have an Orange Marked Goby that I got for the same reason...so far he has killed a beautiful green long tentacle plate and a frogspawn because of his sifting....he takes a mouthful and then winds up in the middle of my little tank and sand is everywhere...I gave up trying to keep sand off things, just watch and keep it blown off if I can and put nothing on the bottom that can't remove the sand on it's own. he does keep the sand bed looking good though.....
