So i acquired a free nano cube through a friend who neglected his tank to almost death. I have since revived the tank and everything seems to be decently in order, rounding 3 months now. ultimately want mostly zoas palys and acans.

Gallon or two water changes every 2-3 days depending on evap, using 3stage ro water.

live Hawaiian black sand, live Fiji rock and branch, purple pseudo, zoas/palys, snails, hermits, mangrove.

T5ho lighting actinic and 10,000k- Looking to upgrade to leds- any suggestions? looking at ai sols-possible tank upgrade then.

whisper pf10 filter i believe- any suggestions on medium and frequency of change? im just using standard carbon bags and floss at the moment.

i feed marine s pellets and flake daily and weekly try to spot feed the zoas.

questions? comments? rants? lets gooo

Forgot to add that i dose daily with kents nano A and B
i get my frags and stuff from a local petshop who seem to have half their store devoted to corals and saltwater- frag tanks of the most run of the mill starter stuff all the way to high end 200$+ sps lps corals frags designer polyps clams etc..., all under MHs and leds.
few newer pics of the zoas, may have slightly burned one with my 2part. All i can id are the radioactive drangons and regular dragons. gotta love seeing new budding baby polyps.

a few shots of new polyps, got a few that are starting to attach to the live rock so ill probably move the plug somewhere else or get a small corner rack. I still dont get why some zoas/palys fetch 50$+ pp online/in the trade? i get the rarity aspect and somewhat slow groth, but once introduced its just copies (unless wild caught are more desirable). like cmon they reproduce by budding and are pretty tolerant.

also, found a brittle star that must have been reminiscent of the old tank or a possible hitchhiker from a frag-which made me realized i need to start treating/dipping all my new purchases.

so something went wrong with the tank after the refugium install, not the ref fault im sure. came home one fish dead, one jumped ship, zoas closed. Cleaned, waited a day, all levels look good. Crabs, snails and most zoas still alive and thriving. A day prior to death i added small dose of Seachem fuel aminos, so maybe that cause some adverse reaction/spike. Anyways rearranged the tank but am thinking about upgrading bc the small size is limiting me and its looking messy with all the exposed wires. i have a ai hydyra 52 in my amazon cart im just waiting to pull the trigger.

Love the palys:D

thanks!

added these guys today bc i have nothing better to spend my money on....in addition to the 52 i just ordered-look forward for an upcoming upgrade/new build...

2 acans, one is screaming hot in pink yellow and blue, another standard looking blue white red-they wanted dumb money for the rainbows $80 p1-2p.
Got some kind of blasto, a zoa frag and ricordea... theyre killing me with these 2 and 3 combo deals some are too good to say no

i know you all want my xmen acans (gimmick name i came up with:laugh:)
for real though fully opened this one frag is stunning for a cheap one-and w/ each having blue X across gold/green eyes, its awesome. the pink and red lips are really popping and sick blue tentacles.
top down lights off
