After a horrible crash, I got rid of the old tank and started new...well its used, but its new to me and I'm very happy. The tank is a 65 gallon CDA.

I'm not ready to post any pics yet, but I will soon. The tank is up and running with a mix of live rock and new rock. I'm also using SeaChem stability to help out with any cycling.

Now comes the question...only because its been several years since I've cycled. I've had the tank running for about 5 days, and I'm aready seeing nitrates, 2ppm to be specific. I have yet to see any ammonia so I'm hoping that the live rock is doing its job.

What are your thoughts?

Hi!

With good live rock you should not see much of an ammonia spike. I would do a water change and then live my life. :)

Here's a full tank shot..

So I picked up the apex flow monitoring kit, but after reading the directions I’m not sure I’ll be able to use it on my return. They say you should only use it on your return if you have full siphon, which I don’t since I have a durso over flow. Any suggestions?

Another question, my previous tank I ran triton but now with aqua forest and ati essentials out there, is there a preferred method between the three?
