I get alot of questions on the DansReef.co.uk page about diffusers on LED lights particularly now that Ecotech have released their own iteration.

Many people question their effectiveness and so Ive taken 3 photos to illustrate. All photos are of 4 x Radion XR30 Pro Gen 4s illuminated at 50%.

Image 1 is all 4 lights WITH diffusers attached.

Image 2 is all 4 lights WITHOUT diffusers attached.

Image 3 is all 4 lights, diffusers attached to the left 2 lights and no diffusers attached to the right 2 lights.

Youll see that the diffusers blend the light colours much better and in the images without the diffusers, we can see the rainbow affect on the wall where the colours have not blended fully.

They give a MINOR reduction in PAR (i increase my power by 5% to compensate).

Personally i think they are invaluable and add much benefit.
