Hey everyone,
I was just doing my weekly water change when I noticed these eggs on my radions mounting arm. These eggs go out of the waterline and are about the half the size of a grain of rice. Any thoughts on what there from?
Thanks

That's what I thought but I've never seen the pattern either! They look like my clownfish eggs but they come out of the waterline so they have to be a snails. I have troches, strombus, turbos, nerites and like 3 cooler water types that I acclimated about a week ago. To my surprise there actualy doing really well! I also noticed this little animal that lives in like a very wide snail shell and he's been on the move lately (him and his partner came in on the rock when I set up the tank)

I can rule out the trochus and Nerites for you, they have a more zigzag pattern, I’ve seen pictures of sundials laying eggs in a similar pattern (spiral) just not so tightly knit together like that. It’s really cool looking, I hope they hatch for you

Of the snails you mentioned, Strombus seems like the most likely candidate. Unless it's one of the unnamed varieties. I have to say I've never seen eggs quite like that and I've had alot of snails over the years. Good luck with them.

Hopefully, that guy was from the first batch of snails that I collected myself to deal with the gha I was dealing with at the time. Im pretty sure that he single handedly got me out of that situation lol as he would zoom around the rockscape eating algae.

GoPro was on for the entire afternoon and overnight, sadly no sign on who layed the eggs.

More eggs have been laid and they have infact been laid by the batch 1st batch of semi tropical snails I put in! Sadly I do not know the name of these snails, but they look like a mix of ninja star and trochus snails. Thanks everyone!

Just incase anyone knows the snail I have a picture below.

First one looks like a Trochus and sceond looks like a ninja star. I may be wrong, if they where clean and white I might get a better look at the shells. I am getting some ninja stars tomorrow, I will try to take a pic for ya.

Yeh that's what I thought aswell. Btw it's the same snail with different camera angle, that's what had me stumped because it could be either! That would be awesome Anthony! These guys are still pretty small and are probably the same size as the nail on my pinky finger, and as they get older and as they get older they will probably be easier to identify.

I'm guessing some type of Trochus. You guys certainly have them in your waters Down Under. Must be nice. The only things I've found at my beach lately were a couple of seagulls and a homeless guy. The birds were too quick and the guy wouldn't fit in my tank. (not for lack of trying) ;)
