Elegance coral doesnt like phosphat-e?

ive had it 9 days now. im battling high phosphate in my tank (.56 yesterday) so i did my first dose of phosphat-e last night. 5ml for about 35ish gal of water. a slight overdose. (40gal tank would be 5ml)

the rest of my birds of paradise bied off and i noticed the elegance fully closed when the light are off now its not extending fully and the tenatcles look retracted. ive been feeding him generously since ive got him.

to recap im showing bad signs on my corals from high phosphates and wondering if this elegance is now showing it too. the other batch of coralsi got the same day seem to be doing well. corals that have been in the tank longer then that are showing receeding.

5ml is way too much too fast, that would be a .56 ppm to .01 dose

heard that, it says 2.5ml for 20 galls max daily.

Edit - i see where it says used in this fashion it will removed .5 phosphates.

Did you drip it over an extended time or pour it in?

I poured it in 3 separate times. About A cap full total ina hour time... estimating.

Tested .29 at 2pm

I think the best way is to drip it over time. Most users drip into a 10 micron (or so) sock to catch the Lanthanum Phosphate flocculant.

If you just pour it in, there is a good chance that there is not enough phosphate readily available in that spot and the LC will attack alk. and the storm created is probably not so good for your reef critters.

It went into the skimmer compartment if it means anything. So how do I reel from here? Sit and wait? Skimmers about to get changed out here it got full quick which I'm glad about. Caught some of it

You will get a false positive for around 48 hours I find

Tested alk today and it stayed stable at 8.9
