Dear Community,
i fear that one of my elegance corals is sick, maybe even suffering from ECS. ;Hurting
I have this coral since about a month, and got it from another private reefer.
To my knowledge it has been in his tank for over a year. The coral did not show any signs of that disease i am seeing now for the first weeks in my system. However, i relocated it to another tank (in the same water circuit) and since then it began to show those signs. (Maybe i damaged it while moving from one tank to another, cant rule that out.)
At first we thought the lighting might be too strong, so we turned down the light to about 40%. (about half of where it was before)
But: the appearance of the coral did not change since then.
I made a small video where you can watch the coral.
Water parameters are somewhat optimal for a zeovit (!) system.
Po4: 0,0 mg/l
No3: 1.95 mg/l
Salinity: 35 PSU
Ca: 410 mg/l
Mg: 1350 mg/l
KH: 8 dKh
K: 380 mg/l
... I can search for my last icp results. but i doubt its about water parameters.
I have another catalaphyllia within the same water circuit (but different tank): Its hosting two clowns and its looking great.
Since the stressed part of the coral is very close to a sponge, maybe the sponge is harming the coral?
The coral is showing those signs for a week or maybe 10 days now.
Any Ideas?
