Some how this important bit of information flew under my radar in previous research. I guess that's not too surprising because I don't see this mentioned in care guides from several major vendors, and it's only a "side note" on this Tidal Gardens video.
When I search other threads about this I see plenty of confirmations that this is accurate. However, there seems to be some debate as to the severity of the problem, and the kinds of animals impacted. One person suggested they put off pheromones that actively attract snails. Someone said theirs ate a conch too. There's also a story about a larger specimen eating (presumably live) fish under a previous owner...
