My elegance coral is eating a bristle worm, or at least it looks that way. Should I be concerned?! Will it just spit it back out? Is the bristle worm going to harm the elegance?

Kinda' strange but should be ok

Although this looks cool and I hope it is the elegance eating the worm....

But I would make sure the worm gets eaten and it's not actually the worm eating dead tissue from the center of the elegance.

Bristle worms will go anywhere for food so just double check that it actually is gone.

I think it should be ok. I’ve seen this before.

This was my initial concern. Now the lights are on, the worm is definitely in the elegance’s mouth. Hopefully no issues.

Should be fine. My elegance has eaten:

  • Sea Hare
  • Wrasse
  • Emerald crab
  • hermits
  • snails
Basically anything that gets too close and can't unstick itself.
Haha I’ve heard/read they were aggressive, I just only thought towards other coral. I’m perfectly content with it eating a bristle worm but it better not take one of my fish! Lol

I am pretty sure it got sick and then the elegance took it. A healthy fish should know better!

Here are a couple more pictures of the carnage.
