He's pinched up today and has some white mucous coming out, although I cannot tell if it is coming from the mouth or outsides. @OrionN How does this look to you? Would you go in for a 15 min FW dip or wait to see? This is as of today. Yesterday looked a bit normal. It has some flow pushing against its left side, but that hasn't changed over the past several days unless some slight shift in the sand (which happens) changed the angle of flow.

As of yesterday:
ALK was 6.5dKh (I dose AFR continually)
NO3 was 25-30ppm
PO4 was 0.7ppm, which is the same as last week.

I might throw some PhosGuard baggies into the sump to help with phosphates if that's a primary concern.

Happy to get advice! Thanks!

If it goes from normal to looking like that over 24 hours then it is something bothering it from the water, or something attacking it. Unlikely to be an infection, which progress more slowly.
If it slowly over weeks go slowly from normal to looking like that then treatment may be contemplated

You should never fresh water dip a stressed coral but if you choose to do so only 30 seconds max or you're gonna kill it. I would suggest a Kung fu dip instead.

I understand that there has been some experimentation with FW dips on elegance for their "elegance coral syndrome". OrionN above has posted on the topic. Not trying to start a dipping debate. I could go for an antibiotic dip as well. I'll first see if nudging it away from some flow might help.

Mine was fine for couple years and then took a dive. They are not easy corals to sustain long term but some have had success.
