I just got my first elegance coral after 5 years in the hobby a wanted some input as far as placement,flow, lighting,food. Ect. Pic is bad but I'll post another when open without blues. Thanks in advance

The Elegance corals I've had in the past seemed to do best on the sand bed with low to moderate lighting & flow. They were also fed small bits of shrimp from the supermarket once every 2 weeks or so. They're actually a pretty undemanding coral, but finding a healthy specimen can be difficult sometimes. GL.

Thanks,pretty much what I've heard,so far my hardest task is finding low enough flow for it and my two new hammers as my tank is designed for sps in terms of flow. I just always like having some LPS for movement and diversity

As above, low to medium flow, they can sulk for weeks so unless it looks worse try and leave it in a spot for a week or 2 to settle.

Thanks I think I've got a good spot now but I need a small rock to attach it to as it sways in the pvc coupling

Right,they look better that way imo. Also was yours agressive? Ie. Stings and how much buffer zone around it?

Mine likes low flow, light intensity is medium i would say, 250 par. If it moves 2" into moderate flow it retracts quite a bit, then i put it back and it fully opens up and is happy. Its pretty sensitive to flow mostly vs light imo.

They do sting, whatever exclusion zone you think really as they all expand differently, I would say 2 - 3 inch minimum.

Here is a crappy cell pic of mine towards dusk....as others have stated, mine likes low flow, low-med light with weekly feedings. I have a Hammer that is a couple of inches away but no issues yet.

Just taken, the yellow tip's tentacles are 3 inches plus today, it goes bigger on a good day! ;)

I've had mine for a year. Don't do anything special. Is in relatively high flow. I didn't know you could feed them. Mine shrivels at any increase in alk so it's my canary!
