I am new to reefing but not new to fish tanks. I am currently accumulating the $865,885,157 in equipment needed to start a 90 gallon tank. A few things about me/my tank:
-The animals come first. I'm not trying to impress the neighbors with exotic animals that will not live for more than 2 weeks.
-Nothing from the ocean in my tank. I hate the thought of Third World divers murdering fish for 25 cents an hour.
-I love it when you guys argue about aquariums. Seriously, go get after each other because it is hilarious.
-I am super cheap. I refuse to spend many thousands of dollars for new when I can get stuff for super cheap off Craigslist. I also love the thrill of potentially being beaten or robbed every time I show up at a strangers house to make a purchase.
-I am super patient. I plan on cycling this tank for 18 months, maybe 24!
-I love to joke.
-I don't understand why I can't buy a complete plumbing setup?? There should not be 10 thousands ways to get water from the DT to the sump!

I have like 25 questions about different topics that I'll be posting soon. I look forward to answers like "you should look it up in the archives before you ask a question" or "u shuld loke it up n arkives b4 u be askin no question." Seriously though, thanks in advance to all the helpful people on this forum.

...but how do I eliminate algae forever? I think that I missed something or you tricked me. And you don't need THAT much money for a tank, I'd say ~$863,800,125. That's pretty fair.

Lol, I was so impressed by the end of your post that I forgot I originally wanted to read about algae eradication.

I'm not a reef troll but I might change my name to that! I am however annoyed and choosing to not read reef2reef (for a couple days) as my daily fix for my reef nerd illness. I recently bought a ton of high end reef stuff off of Craigslist for about 11 cents. I'm debating on what to keep...what to sell. I asked a question on reef2reef about a controller that I bought. I wanted to know if it is a useful reef tool or a rich man's toy. I received a couple good answers BUT multiple people offered to buy the controller. The forum mall cop shut the post down because he/she said I was trying to sell stuff?? Lame. Super lame. I never offered it for sale and I never responded to the dudes who wanted to buy it. I did not respond to the private messages I received either. In fact, I have decided to give the controller a test spin before I even think about selling it. The forum campus police should have slapped the hands of the people offering to buy it when I never offered it for sale. Whatever, I have questions that I will still ask but that just left a bad taste in my mouth. Thanks for all the responses.

Maybe you just need to be a little less intense . We're just ordinary people with a love of reefing and we all help each other out in a non judgmental way is all .... we try to avoid stress thats why we love fish (:

But some of those people were offering more then triple ur money back. I rember reading that post as well didn't know it got axed
But if ur not just messing around with us I don't think u should let that one thing leave a bad taste in ur mouth.
The campus police are here to make our lives miserable on this website and in real life. The law has given me tickets in real life for doing nothing wrong u just say thanks for protecting us so much officer the worlds a better place now that u gave me this ticket for ashing my cigarette out the window and I'm now 500 dollars in the hole.
Just take it Smile and move on with ur life
