so I was scrolling through Instagram and I think (?) That i saw someone encrust a skeleton skull with coral so that got me thinking. Has anyone taken a dead acropora colony and put something like an encrusting montipora on it? If so id love pictures and how you did it

glue the frag onto the coral.. it will overgrow the coral.

Mine took beating while back from high nitrates so my pictures are not inspiring, but it was easy to do. Corals are hanging in there, so perhaps someday those encrusting other large dead branch coral will again be photo worthy

Should I frag a bunch of small pieces from it? Since acros are really dense hard to fit whole frags onto it without cutting them up

SO... mixed feelings on answering this... maybe?

I always feel like larger pieces are healthier, so I'm not a fan on fragging small, but if the colony dies then I'm grateful if I do have a bit somewhere... sorry this is not helpful answer, but it is my honest answer
