It seemed op wanted something else

I use this one on my nano, works great, 46$ + you supply your own container. I got one for 20$ that works well and holds 3g. Lasts a week for my situation

I'm using a version of that very device

I have to take the float and tank Red Sea ATO(which is fine) out

In order to make room for the Aqua Maxx filter roller that sits in the same place as the tank from the ATO

I'm using that same ATO until I can get the parts for the GHL controller to do the ATO function. And get that hooked up

A $50 all in one, everything you need(except the reservoir), ATO solution

I like it. Switched out the plastic tubing for silicone tubing, though

Is it possible to use a dosing pump as an ato? I’m assuming evaporation doesn’t happen at a consistent rate so idk if it’ll work but I’m trying to figure out a way to essentially diy an ato

The tank is underneath where the ATO would be located, that’s why I’m having trouble figuring out a way to install something Does anyone have any suggestions?

Many do and you can. You will have to utilize a float or Fluid level sensor so unit turns off when level is reached.

Would an ato lifter pump work for this project he is trying to accomplish? Because the main concern is the water siphoning due to the reservoir being on top of the tank

yes. what your looking for is called an auto top off system. its the same thing as a dosing pump except it measures the water level. the highest recommended one is usually the tunze osmillator because it not only has optical sensors. but a mechanical backup sensor giving best of both worlds. then apex makes an auto top off thats amazing, but its very expensive. they have cheap ones on amazon but i would not trust my reef tank to a cheap $50 auto top off. The good thing about these systems is you can put the reservoir whereever pretty much. i bought a giant plastic trashcan and hid it around the corner from my tank and thats my auto top off. .

some brands have auto siphon mechanisms just for this scenario. i forgot which brand it was though.
