I was thinking of using Jacks Multi-lubricant on it . I didn't want to force it in, its very tight.

Silicone grease will work too and will prolong the life of the o-ring but again it should be a tight/snug fit.

Not much to update on other than the tank so far is coming along great. A few weeks back I did get a little bit of algae on the rocks and sandbed but most of it is gone now. Also the rocks are starting to get some color and are not ugly white anymore.

FTS from today 04/05/17

I also received these 4 frags from WWC today. Here is a quick cellphone pic from when I was dipping them. Not that WWC is known to have pest but its better to be safe than sorry.

and lastly I finally was able to somewhat finish the electronics side, while not as "fancy" as the sump area it works for me and it keeps most of the wires tucked and hiding away while giving some room to store by 2-part dosing reservoirs and other additives.

Nice Eric. Are you transferring any colonies from an old tank? I am debating when to transfer from a 90 into a 180.

Thanks you! Unfortunately what caused this whole new build was the crash of the old tank so no colonies to transfer over :(

I finally started to assemble the manifold and when I put the fittings on the Reactors they are bigger than then original fitting I can not tighten the screws on the top . Did you have to modify the fitting

Send me a private message which a picture so I can have a better idea of what you are referring to. If you use the fittings in my parts list with the o-rings I recommend it should fit just fine and you should be able to tighten the screws.

Not the greatest picture but you can sorta of see I have full access to all 6 thumb screws.

Things have been moving slowly with the tank. Had a brown algae outbreak from getting to happy with Reed Roids :) *totally my fault* I did a 3 day blackout plus GFO and 90% of its gone now, still a few patches here and there but nothing major.

I ordered a Building An Obsession camera tube so I decided to get some top down shots of some of the nicer frags. Colors are starting to come back now, they did get a bit dull from the 3 day blackout.

All pictures taken under 100% Royal Blues!

One thing I wish someone had told me is that whether you bought yours in white or black you will still find a black and white front feet piece in the box. If your stand is white then use the white one. This might sound obvious now but since the white XL models are black inside it can keep a bit confusing. If you go the black model then use the black piece. Either way you will have one piece left over just toss it or save it if you have room.

As for building the stand, the different pieces are not labeled so take your time and make sure you are using the correct panel. Its not hard though, it just take a bit of time. I think I put mine together in 60-90 minutes. I did it alone but having another person will make the process easier and faster.

Also make sure you install the doors and adjust them before sliding the sump in. Once the sump is in you won't have access to the two bottom hinges.

Lastly, when you insert the 3 pipes into the overflow make sure they are tight if not you will have a slow drip coming out from the side when you fill the tank. Also if you have silicone grease put a little bit on the o-rings as this will help them last longer and form a better seal.
