ESHOPPS Mariner 70 Build

Ugh... Fairly certain I'm facing Dinos again. Working on it now. Scraped the glass and dosed some Coral Snow. MB7 will be here tomorrow.

Oh well. This too shall pass.
Also, after further consideration I'm fairly certain this is Cyano due to Reef Flux. Got some Microbacter started and it seems to be working - less today than there was 2 days ago when I started MB7.

I need to grab a few Ceriths and some red leg hermits. I'll also probably get a bottle of pods from the LFS with some of my store credit either tomorrow or Friday.

I’m on reef flux right now too….. and dealing with cyano. It’s annoying but not taking over quite yet, so I don’t think I need to bust out the chemiclean as long as I keep basting it away. I’m only one week in though, and I’m trying to rid myself of bryopsis AND GHA, so it could still take off. I keep forgetting to lower my lighting schedule! That helps with cyano right?

I'd avoid Chemiclean.

Lowering light can help with Cyano, yes, since it's photosynthetic.

Blew off all the Cyano, dosed Snow and MB7.

I like the movement that the Turbelle adds to the tank. If I had to change one thing it would be the Hub website. It's not very intuitive and the instructions included are very difficult to follow - at least from a phone website.

I think adding an app with some display would be cool. The website flashes whatever's running - event or program - but it doesn't tell you what the current settings are.

Oh well, at least it's a set it and forget it for the most part.

Also, I went to a different LFS yesterday and purchased some pods/phyto. They were having their anniversary sale with raffles. I won a "freshwater food" gift box. That's cool since I literally just started stocking my 110 freshwater. Curious what foods are in it.

Cyano is still there but seems to be getting better. I've been considering a DIY algae scrubber. I'll probably design something on the printer as a "drop-in".

If you get something designed lmk.

Plan for today:

  • Water change since the Cyano has finally left me alone for temporary but GHA is still around
  • Move some Dragons Breath from the 8 gallon
  • Dial in the printer again (extruder filament feed tube fitting stopped holding so it's replaced but now the Steps Per MM is off...)
  • Print a couple of backlogged prints

  • Water change - ✓
  • Moved some Dragons Breath - ✓
  • Went bowling and let my daughter drive for over an hour instead of working on the printer - ✓
  • Made some water for the ATO - ✓

So sweet. Especially the part about bowling with your daughter and letting her drive.

Is she practicing for her license?

Yeah. She's likely going to get it in October. Not looking forward to the insurance hike.

A nice steel mug, rashguard, socks, book about great lakes wrecks, and a dive map. Really wanted a new wetsuit but didn't get that.
I wanna hit the Great Lakes one of these days for some rock hounding. Diving some wrecks would be a neat experience too!

You are welcome to check out Lake Erie anytime. I am 15 min away from Headlands beach. They filmed some scenes from the new Superman movie there.:)
