A/C condenser coils got dirty with the dust storms and the coils froze today...

Gonna have to climb up on the roof and clean those tomorrow morning. In the meantime, I finally made it home and I'm floating some bags of ice!

This is a really interesting design. I can't wait to see how it works.
Here's the final "complete" project.
1000007940.png

I've printed each piece individually of each other to give me the ability to make changes as necessary. The red piece fits on the grey stair steps as a simple side guard to keep most of the water in the scrubber. The 90 should fit fairly snugly in the feed tube of the grey piece but I fully intend to use Weldon for the best possible seal (I don't want water spraying out at that point). The orange piece takes the place of a filter sock (I may have to design a filter cup that allows more flow than the ones I currently have). The grey piece sits fairly snugly in the orange piece. The tubing (9mm) comes up through the tubing guide on the orange piece and fits inside the 90 with an internal barb.

I think the grey piece can be shrunk down some and then the orange piece would be the only part that would be too big for a 7" print bed. The orange piece can't be sized down and still work with a 7" sock unfortunately.

I've got a Sicce Mi Mouse for the pump. It should be adjustable enough to not overpower the scrubber with flow.

I think I understand how it fits together. I don't know why it wouldn't work. What are you planning to use for the light source.

How big is the bed on your Ender?

I've got the 11.8" print bed.

For lighting I've got (2) LED grow light strips that are 12". They're probably a little oversized but it's what I'm planning on starting with.

Looks like they're 10 watts each strip. I wish they were shorter though. 4" square would be better. I'm likely going to try to find a different light but these'll work for temporary.

Gotta reprint the 90° (I need to add 1-2mm to the insert and test the barb) and buy some 9mm OD tubing and then I'll do a water change and install this bad boy!

You didn’t think you would escape my wrath, did you, @tbrown?

Looks like you jumped on the 3D printing bandwagon. As usual, you’re about 5 years too late. It also doesn’t surprise me that you joined that crowd. After all, I always knew you were only a follower.

Also, your tank looks like a half-done attempt at a reef tank.

Other than that, I hope you’re having a nice evening and your family is well. (Notice how I didn’t say, “You and your family.”

Evening was a couple of hours ago. We're prepping for bed.

Other than that, the family is all good (now... A few surgeries later)!

I am going through the old threads I used to follow. The next time some people log on they’ll either be pleasantly surprised or have a, “Oh, what the heck! He’s back.” moment.

Printed the 90° and test fit everything. It all fits together good. Now I need the tubing and it'll be ready for install and start up!

Water change complete! I think I'll make some more water and do another change tomorrow and then I'll install and turn on the waterfall algae scrubber.
