Gotta load and run transparent PETG samples and print the light lens/bracket and a rail for the base (I never considered that the screens wouldn't just hang in one place... You know, gravity and stuff).

Ordered a new light and started printing the light "bracket".

About 10 minutes remaining. This is my first attempt at transparent PETG on the Bambu. Looks decent from above, we'll see when it's finished printing.
 
I forgot I had to design and print a base support. That's done and printed now but I'm not home. Assembly happens likely tomorrow as tonight is Poker Night.

I'm also considering a redesign so the screens hand rather than needing to be supported from the bottom. We'll see. It's an easy enough idea to incorporate but I won't likely need to reprint this for myself for any reason.
 
Here's an interesting thought I had the other day:

I wonder if a Bubble Algae Reactor would work for stripping Nitrates and Phosphates as well as a Turf Scrubber?
 
And the light showed up today! ATS will get fully assembled hopefully tomorrow evening and then installed probably Monday evening after the glue has set. I got a bigger pump for it as well. Currently running the Sicce MiMouse (90 gph) but I picked up a JBJ FP1500 (396 gph).

The plan is to design a Hang-On BAR (bubble algae reactor) and print that next and use the MiMouse for that one. Maybe.

There is no bubble algae reactor if you mean chaeto, because the bubbles will cause slime to kill the chaeto.

No, I'm talking about designing something to grow Bubble Algae in and calling it a reactor. Just a thought I had.
 
Just silly thoughts in my mind.

I once had a Hang-Inside refugium with macro algae. It grew bubble algae and Aiptasia better than the Gracilaria I had in there.
 
Ok, since the weekend is here I'm hoping to find time to actually get the ATS installed. I dry fit the tubing and it's good. Glued everything but the lid on and it's had 36 hours to "cure". Light is here, pump is in the box ready to get installed.

To do:

  • Remove old light
  • Remove old ATS
  • Remove old pump
  • Install new pump
  • Install new ATS
  • Adjust pump flow
  • Install new light
  • Set light time and intensity tonight

Not yesterday - too much was going on. My wife and daughter are going to a Bunco night at church tonight. I'm planning on setting it up while they're gone.
 
And it failed. The barb fitting was just loose enough the tubing popped off and sprayed water everywhere. The pump was too much flow and sprayed water everywhere. Basically, it sprayed water everywhere.

I'm considering redesigning the old Stair Step model I was using. It seemed to do better than the last screen one I printed.

The good news though, is that I got one of my Hydros level sensors swapped out for a different/better one for the application.
 
Ok. Printing this instead of ATS and we'll revisit the ATS later.

I'm thinking future ATS design will be the stair step style that I previously designed for my filter sock replacement. It'll stair step and dump into this instead of just back into the return section as currently designed.
