Yes, it’s pretty common for a torch to lose a single tentacle now and then, and it doesn’t necessarily mean anything is seriously wrong. There are a bunch of possible reasons for it... a clownfish hosting in it, a crab picking at it, or other irritation.

I’ve also seen this happen from flow-related stress. Sometimes the sweeper tentacles get blown around and end up rubbing against or getting caught on the skeleton, which can damage them. Based on your photo, it looks like they are getting plenty of flow, so I would bet this is probably the case.

Nothing to panic about right now—just keep an eye on it and see how it looks over the next few days.

They can do that. It's usually a sign of stress though or a potential fish picking at it.

What's your current stock list and what are your water parameters? How long have you had the torch in the tank?

Keep an eye on the Peppermint Shrimp as a possibility. Every now and then they have been known to go rogue.

As mentioned above, the Clownfish could be another potential culprit if it's decided that the torch should be his host.

Hopefully it's just a dropped tentacle then. My old torches would drop one or two occasionally. Never saw signs they were being harassed by anything.
