I just installed a piece of tempered glass in the LB. I only have to change 1 bar for it to fit the fixture.
I will get it hung tomorrow and see what kind of par I can get with the Hamilton 20K.

The LB puts down some par. Heat is not bad with the glass.
250 near the back 3-400 on side rocks. Center.

Hamilton 20K and edge at 75%.
Nice and white. Also quite a bit brighter than the RB fixture.
This should grow some coral.

I started kalk yesterday running at 1mlm which is around 1.5 liters a day. Alk is running around 7.8, target 7.5-8. I plan to run kalk up to 3mlm then start A4R once im at 3mlm and holding alk.

Getting food today at lfs and was given a powder blue tang. Very thin but was eating mysis. Lfs said it will probably die in a few days so I can take it and see if it will live.
Body looks good but super thin and reminds me of my old convict tang that looked similar.
If it will take food and procceds to live I will put in this system or maybe my 150.
At least its not in a system with other fish so no stress, my 13g.

Good luck. Hope he makes it.

That's tang looks super rough. I hope it makes it.
Yea it did not survive the night. It was pretty bad but I gave it a shot. Found it this morning with a tuxedo urchin attatched to it
When I removed it the urchin had made a big hole in the side of it. 😩

That sucks. We were all rooting for you..

I removed the 3 pieces of dead cement rock from the system. One with the sponge went into my 13.
So around 35 lbs of live only.
19 current test frags doing well.
Kalk is running 1mlm and holding alk at 8.
Coralline starting to show on the power head and racks.
I added a Jebao ow-25 I had. Its running on C mode and goes on/off for around 20 seconds opposite the ow-40 on the sweep.
I am going to get a Tunze Orca, 6075, soon to replace the ow-25.
Still no fish yet.

It looks very clean in that tank. How often do you vacuum the detrius? I may have missed it, but do you have any fish in there yet?

I vacuumed it out once when I did a 4g WC. It piles up under the sweep. In 2 to 3 days its is back due to boring creatures in the rock.
No fish yet.
Po4 .031
No3 4.9
This is 2 days after removing it all.

In my BB 150 detrius creates sand in low flow areas and is impossible to remove.
With the rock raised off the bottom its easy to remove it if needed.
This being a growout system The raised rock creates flow not seen on rock placed on the bottom and allows better maintenance for this type of system.

I have alot of room now in my 50 since the 112 came online.
My signature coral for the back wall.
I put a green slimer on most back walls. This one was from a pencil nub I broke off when working in the 150.
Also the bubbletips that never stop splitting, lol.

I have been looking for this for awhile now as a nostalgic piece.
Somehow I found one new in box.
I ran one of these many years ago.
Not sure what I will do with it but its a cool piece of reefing history.

Poor tang 😢
Always hurts to see them like that. Hope it has some fight left in it and a serious appetite.
