I’m trying to work on taking actinic pictures since I so rarely do so. Here’s my first attempt. I’ll keep working on it. It’s not so much capturing a nice image but making sure color is correct as well. A lot can go crazy when you’re working with all blue and sometimes you can fool yourself as a photographer into thinking that overly colored up pic you took is accurate. ;)

Ahem I've stopped watching this thread now. Too much blue, I think the real Ty is gone. Also, where would I get a frag of that rainbow envy? I've been feeling up for a challenge lately.

And there we go. That's how to feed an addiction right there. I knew you were holding out on us:rolleyes: Is that BC Aquatic Man or TSA Bill Murray on the bottom?
That’s the Aquaticman. Placed it in there about a month or so ago. Waiting for it deepen in colors again but not sure the par there is going to do it. I’m getting 200-225 there.

I'm on the fence of what to buy next for my 4 month old tank and wanted someone with more experience to weigh in. I was thinking about a refugium to control that inevitable algae bloom. Or should I get a UV sterilizer. The water is pretty cloudy (even with weekly water changes) and I was hoping the sterilizer would help. What would you guys buy? Refugium or sterilizer?
It’s official... I’m bored. Now I’m playing with anemones. Got a steal of a purple gig anemone this week. Excuse the cloudiness of the water, I’m pre-treating with cipro.

Acro shot so the masses will stay appeased.

What makes these nems so challenging?
They typically just have a difficult time transitioning to tank life and finding a healthy specimen to start with is often difficult too. I think quarantine practices have gotten much better over the years that the survivability has gotten better. The pretreatment with cipro was a game changer I hear. Same medication we adopted and use for the equally sensitive Colorado Sunburst anemones when they get sick.

Haha! My acro peeps will revolt! My supernovas and CSBs all got treated with cipro and booted to the backup system. The supernovas were actually doing really great for the first two months in the new system but then when I added the rest of the CSBs... they got ticked again. I hope they will recover with time but it’s too early to tell right now. Even my CSBs aren’t the happiest with the move so it may just be a bunch of purple gig pics for awhile.

Best pics I have. One dead EB832 Power bar and one dead Gyre Controller. Luckily I had backups of both. Only other pic evidence I have is me crying uncontrollable but I will save you guys from that one.
