Since Bubba made me pull out the camera... [emoji14]

I snapped a couple other things while at it. I've had some complaints about not identifying my coral pics so I'll try go get better.

2 things... One, I think its hilarious that the one time I decide to add the names, half of them are unnamed pieces. [emoji23]
Two, I feel silly having to say white or blue pic but with all the gel filters, blue only tanks, rainbow tenuises, etc, it just gets confusing what you're looking at sometimes so I made it easy for those following along. That way you have an idea of what it can look like under each light and if you are a white lighter like me or a blue only tank like many these days, you'll know what you might end up with if you get your own piece one day.

See, now I like pic 2 over pic 3, I rarely take pics under led only, generally with all T5s on as well, it is what it is! :)
I'm with you... I think its fun to see some of my acros like that for an hour at night but I don't want go see that all the time. But that's just my preference. There's a huge group of blue only reefers these days... A lot I talked to don't even have display tanks, just frag tanks with frags/colonies all under blues. To each their own so I post both pics if I have them.

Thanks bud! You got a great list yourself!

Lucky Charms on the RMF site is crazy looking, but it also has the original growth structure from when imported so I always take that with a grain of salt how future frags will look. I've kept enough Maris/wilds over the years to know the new growth can be drastically different in color and growth form from the original imported colony.

The lucky charms looks like it will be something special. Since I can never find the Angry Birds, I have been trying to find a blue base with red polyps stick. I bought the JF Jolt at Reefapalooza a couple weeks ago but the polyps are not red either like his pics advertise, at least not so far.

As far as the pics where one is white light and the other blue light. I like when pics are like that. I, like you have started to shy away from rainbow corals. Even though the corals look good under straight actinic, I hate how dark it makes my tank looks. I barely look at the tank when it is using just the reef bars.

Yeah, my polyps aren't red yet either so we'll see when it grows out. I hate booger frags because they take an eternity to get started.

I don't put a ton of weight into Jason Fox colors... I usually download the picture and reduce the saturation to see what I'll really get, the exception being the Foxflame. Its legit, not his colors legit but good looking acro for sure.

I'm curious how the Jolt comes out for you.

Yeah, the large movement towards all blue reefs is disheartening for me and the swaps propagate it. I miss my white light days. I still find it strange that there are all blue reefers out there obsessed with super blue tanks and macro shots of acros. When you step back and turn on some whites, the tanks are pretty blah but to each their own I say.

Its just hard as a consumer to rifle through all the pictures of the acros and decide will it look good in white lighting or is this a blue special.

I get it as a retailer, blue and higher saturation sells and then consumers get it and realize it only looks good in blue, so they add more blue to their own tanks to legitimize their purchase. So continues the blue trend and ridiculous prices.

I'll get off my soapbox now. I'll just try to educate better and show examples of what some of these "hot" acros look like in white light and start avoiding some of them myself. They come with crazy price tags anyway so I'll be doing myself a favor I'm sure. [emoji16]

So, this was fun yesterday. I saw a small leak in my UV closed loop plumbing... Nothing crazy... Enough to build up salt but not dripping water. I fixed it thinking it was a leak in the silicone seal and put it back together and ran it. Next day there was a good little trail of water coming out of my garage. Went to go look at my fix and apparently the PVC itself had cracked. Had a late night plumbing run to the store and mini-crisis averted. Nothing was worse for wear with the UV off and the water stagnant in the closed loop for 5 hrs.

Probably had a hairline crack you never really saw that salt creep just made bigger over time.
Probably right Fudsey. I probably overtightened it initially and caused the hairline crack. I need to lay off the protein shakes. [emoji123][emoji123][emoji6]

Yeah, usually plumbing you don't have to worry about once it is finalized at the beginning so that was a surprise to see it develop a crack.

The only thing I could think of that can make cracks in my plumbing is when I hit the feed mode in my apex the water rush in and out and the return line kicks on and off... That can cause stress in my plumbing, I do it a lot...lol

That makes sense. My crack was on a line that has constant flow and never changes so it was confusing to see it.
