favorite coral food!

So lets here it. for those of you who feed coral, what is your favorite foods? do you use only one, or do you mix it up? do you have your own mix? broadcast or spot feed?

lets discuss. currently im feeding reef roids once a week, about an hour prior to my water change.

I love making my own mix. I use oyster feast or oyster magnifique, reef roids, marine snow, with a dab of zooplankton. I target feed 4 days a week and broadcast feed the other 3 days. Errbody happy in my cube :rolleyes:

sounds like a pretty good mix. have you ever thought to send it out to be tested? there are several labs out there that will test the nutritional value of your mix for a fair price, then you can adjust your needs from there. or you can just do whatever makes your coral happy lol

My favorite coral food is fish poop. It's free, and automatically feeds the corals every day. :D I just picked up another coral feeder this week......a midas blenny! :p

What redfish said. Occasionally I will feed aminos or marine snow.

Marine fusion. Rotifers. Coral frenzy.
Mini mysis.
Ever seen a grand paly eat a mysis shrimp?

I use reef roids, my lfs own mix, phyto feast, frozen brime, mysis and reef frenzy mix. I like to mix it up a bit, who doesnt like a variety. I spot feed one of these foods once a week and the tank gets phyto feast once every 3 days. Whatever my fish don't eat during their 2 feedings a day would be my broadcast.

I didint even know there where that much food for corals I never even thought to check
I have a few mushrooms and some other soft corals what should I feed them?
I think they are polys

If you have fish and are feeding them they probably are fine.
If your feeding frozen to the fish blow a little on the corals.

I really like the reef chili. It has a good mix of various tiny foods that are easy to target feed.
