Feather star fish

my tank is 1 and half year old....i have seen red colored feather star fish in one shop...i liked it so much.....pls advise if i keep it in my tank.....my tank size is 1 meter long

More than likely it will slowly starve in most home aquariums unless you keep up a very regular phyto and/or rotifer/other micro organisim dosing scheme going for the life of the starfish.

is it dangerous for other fishes or not? will it be harmful for tank mates?

They are not harmful to fish but, I would not recommend one unless you have the proper foods to attempt to feed one. Unfortunatly it will most likely die since they are so specilized.

It is a filter feeder and can be kept with good care, phytoplankton - green water. They feed at night and hide during the day, so another consideration is you'll never see it. http://www.aquacon.com/starfish.html
