Haven't really thought about this till today. When dethawing shrimp, I would start cutting it up and removing some of its shell, to help add more surface to soak some vitamins. With feeding lives, the shrimp tend to be smaller and the shells are thinner and the fish probally dont notice it, but with thick shells, does it have any nutritional value or is it just like what corn is for humans?

The shells contain protein, necessary amino acids, and calcium, as well as other nutrients and minerals; likely in higher concentrations than flesh. In feeding your predatory fish, bones and shells should be included in a dead diet. Even though supplementing, nothing beats natural nutrients.
