I need some reefing buddies. I'm the only one I know in person that is trying to even keep SW fish, let alone a reef. Do any so cal clubs meet close enough to Hemet that I could get there with a bus ride that doesn't take more than a couple hours?

Anyone? I still haven't found a club close enough to get to or anyone that'll hang out and talk fish/trade frags/etc. The forum is great but I seriously need some face-to-face contact.

I live in menifee now...

FINALLY some reefers semi-local to me!!! I live in Hemet - it's near Riverside. Maybe we can work something out :)

Hang out at your local LFS and talk to other shoppers. I started my own aquarium club as there was not one 26 years ago then went on to help start MASNA and MACNA and hosted MACNA 7. It just takes effort and a love for the hobby. I did have to take a break from the hobby for a few years as I became burnt out with the "people" not the aquarium.:)

The Inland Empire does have a reef club and they seem to be pretty active. It is IEMAS, oddly enough. :) I am the VP of the San Diego club and wish we could take care of ya. Hopefully IEMAS is close enough.

This should be the link to the IE club. Hope this helps. There are some great reef keepers in the Inland Empire. I know quite a few of them from RC
IEMAS

IEMAS meet the first Friday of every month at ihop just south of the Ontario mills mall.

It would take me about 5 hours (and 5 buses...) to get there, but it might just be worth it.

It's only $12 total for a trip out there, if I have the patience.

Quite a few of the IEMAS members post quite often in the Southern California Reefers forum on RC. There is a good chance there are members in your local area that can give you a lift. You might consider posting there. Another option is to get in touch with Cy the club president. Good guy and probably can give you good ideas. Good luck
