Thanks. Made a rookie mistake though. Scape should have been lower and I scaped to what looked good from the start. Should have considered coral placement more. Had I done the scape differently I would have definitely given myself more room for coral placement. Overall I am happy though for my first timeGreat looking tank. I really like the aquascape, and will borrow the design in my new tank. Getting ready to upgrade from a nuvo 40 to a 75.
Thanks
Its growing but not extremely fast. Lots of new eyes though. Been playing with placement a little bit. All seems happy for the most part but definitely want to do some lighting upgrades and kick things up a notch.Tank looks great @Bayareareefer18 how's the miami hurricane chalice frag doing?
Totally agreed. Stuff has grown but I imagine the rate is light limited. Definitely not upset but I feel it's sort of the progression. Don't think I need to of the line but a step up for sure.Good to hear. I grew a small frag into a large colony, I noticed more colorful eyes and a deeper green when it was low in the tank. When it starts to grow it takes off fast. Glad to see the tank flourishing. Discus are beautiful, I had one in a freshwater tank. BTW you don't need the latest fanciest stuff to keep a beautiful reef tank.
Thanks for your help and for looking. Definitely value your posts you are always so quick to answer on the new posts that I am browsingTrust me, you'll probably change your scape many times over as coral grows. Not sure on your budget but for lights I was really impressed with reef breeders photons. A friend has some on a large tank and I can't believe the colors he pulls. Keep doing what your doing, tank looks great.
I appreciate that, just a fellow reefer that likes to help out. Thanks for your help and for looking. Definitely value your posts you are always so quick to answer on the new posts that I am browsing
How much par you think for the Miami?Good to hear. I grew a small frag into a large colony, I noticed more colorful eyes and a deeper green when it was low in the tank. I have never measured par on any tank. Always payed attention to the coral. I always noticed good growth and color with chalices mid to bottom of the tank. If they were blasted with light then color would fade a bit. The best color I got was a nice blue/green base with multicolored mouths. I'll find some pics and post them for you if you don't mind, don't want to derail your build thread. How much par you think for the Miami?
I feel like it's not as blue and losing some of the greens on the eyes but still have the pink
