Hello everyone!

I'm following the BRS/WWC hybrid method as best I can while adapting it for a softy/lps tank and at the two month mark I turned on my light to start going through the ugly phase. Now that I'm two and a half weeks into the light being on I noticed the first complex algae! I seeded this tank with some rubble from my bosses 5 year old fowler system so I assume this algae came in on that (or the spores anyway). I'm looking for an ID and wether or not I need to be concerned. most importantly if it is cause for alarm how do I go about fighting it? Hopefully its just part of the ugly stage but if it isn't theres only a few strands and I know now is my best chance to take care of it. Only live stock is a tiny hermit blue leg hermit crab and the tank is a fluval evo 13.5 gallon. I've consistently had levels of 5ppm nitrates and only upon typing this have I realized I don't have any way to check the phosphates... I'm not really sure how I missed that. When I figure out what those are I'll be sure to post them here. If you can zoom in on the photos they seem stay reasonably clear if that helps. each strand is roughly 1/3 of an inch. I run the tank heavy on the blue spectrum but only had the whites on for the photos.

Thanks in Advance!
