My tank is 8 months old and I sent an ICP test off to see what if anything was wrong and it came back with high Tin at 5.48 µg/l.
I have no rust on anything and I had a small problem with some digitata but they have been getting better
- add AFR every day at 5ml
- add microbacter clean 80ml once a week
I do have a vent from my central heat and air unit that has some rust on it beside the aquarium.....could this be the problem?

Any help would be appreciated

Completely normal, I've done a few ATI tests now on a couple different tanks all doing great some many years old. All around the same level of tin, I think ati just picks up on it more then other tests. I would not worry about it unless you see it trending up over time and not going down/staying the same.

I think your levels look pretty good. I had a similar low iodine level (also use AFR) and I started dosing iodine every couple weeks. Subsequent tests showed it staying in a normal range. My corals don’t seem any different so I’m not sure it’s necessary.

My tin has drifted up over time, not sure why, but I have not worried about it. Mine is about 1/2 yours which is much higher than NSW but does not seem to cause any issues so far.

I do not think that rust adjacent to the aquarium is a concern.

My icp came back high in Al, I think it came from some bio blocks I had, I wonder if something silimar is happening for you? Do you have any bio blocks or similar in your tank?

I also have had an ICP result show high tin. What salt do you use? A number of ways to get rid of it - I used cuprisorb.

Tin seems to often come from plastics, where it is used as a heat stabilizer. Your level is not high enough to be a concern to organisms (IMO), so I'd ignore it.

You might (or might not) benefit from a trace element additive such as Tropic Marin A and K.

No water changes since I have had the tank, so I add bacteria once a week and test very often.

So I was looking at my vent on the floor near the tank and noticed the rust was way worse than I thought so I am gonna remove it and replace it.
If not the source it still can't hurt to replace it

Hey the tank is looking good. As others have said that level of tin is not enough to harm life in your tank. It’s a good idea to do a ICP when you can to keep an eye on it though!

I am thinking of taking some paint and smothering the rust on the vent.
I think that I can get some non toxic paint at Lowes
What do you guys think?

I expect that isn’t the source. :)

I have checked all the pumps and the only other thing is my dosing lines

As I noted, plastic is a common source. Tubing, pvc, etc.

Then it has to be from my doser as its the only new lines I have all the other tubing has been used for years on my previous tank.
Unlesss its from the original pvc that came with the tank but the Tin is so low I am not gonna worry about it.
