For those with sinks in your fish room, what sink material are you using? I got a stainless steel utility sink but it’s showing rust spots. I’ve found a few marine grade sinks (T316 instead of T304) but they are for installations and I was gonna use a laminate top.

I suppose you have no interest in going with the standard heavy-duty plastic Home Depot free-standing laundry tubs (pictured to the left)? They are fairly indestructible, and clean out great with even simple vinegar or bleach; usually just water alone from the faucet gets the job done.

Thanks for the suggestion. I looked into these, but no one stocks them near me. I was looking for more kitchen sink type as I am repurposing a small kitchenette.

They do make coatings for stainless steel sinks. I’ve never used them but it sounds similar to those new ceramic car paint coatings.

I'd still go for a plastic utility sink for two reasons.....1. they are plastic and don't rust. and 2. they are deep to clean big stuff, like your skimmer. They do make "drop in" utility sinks, but they are big. I know Menards has a small utility sink for $53....I'd work that into your cabinetry, cutting whatever size hole you'd need.

All I know is that maybe the 7th or 8th time that I stubbed my toe on that panworld -- I would take an axe to it and have harsh words for the guy who put it there.... :grimacing-face:

Bean, I'm pretty sure you'd first trip on the red piping right inside the door, falling forward and hitting your head on the Panworld. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Seconded. Standalone utility sink has come in handy more times than I care to mention

I 100% would go with a plastic sink if I were to get a new one. I got the trinity utility sink from Costco, it’s a great sink and would totally be great for anything but saltwater. A wider or longer sink is great rather than the square ones you find in most laundry rooms
