Flame Torch Acting Strange

I recently got a Flame Torch my aquarium. For the last 3-5 days its been doing awesome. But I just went in and checked on the tank and it was barely out, with a few tentacles hanging out.

It does not appear to be discolored....

So whats wrong with it?

Is a flame torch a red torch? Have a pic? Any brown jelly looking stuff on the heads?

It looks just like this but really close to the base. Normally it has long extensions of the tentacles

Could be that it's ready for lights out, too much flow, or just feels like staying inside today. :) I would see how it looks tomorrow before you worry too much.

There's no brown jelly looking stuff right?

I have it in quite a bit of flow but it seems to like it.

I turned my lights out for the night.

Hopefully it will do better tomorrow...

If it doesn't open tomorrow try taking some flow away from it.
My torches like a gentle flow that's just enough to keep their tentacles in suspension. If there's too much they close up.

I checked in on the flame a minute ago and it looks almost normal. The tentacles are a bit shorter than normal but it looks better.

I'm going to move the flow away from it and see what happens.

What would your advice be if it has brown jelly? what causes that anyway?

It's a bacterial disease that will spread quickly and to other euphyllia in the tank as well.

Cut every head off that has brown jelly on it. you can try to save the heads, but it isn't worth it to me as it may spread like I stated earlier. Dip the rest of the coral in iodine like lugols or another med of your choice. I would also recommend dosing vitamin C for a couple weeks if you don't already.

Keep a little more flow then you normally would on the rest of the coral until it looks like you have it beat.

My torch is the most finiky out of all my euphyllia corals. Its also a small head that i got out of the damage tank at a lfs. He has made a come back. I noticed that mine do better high up ( i use only pcs) and in good flow. Some times he just doesent feel like coming out but has been doing great. I agree with black hawk fan. Cut the jelly head and put it in a quarantine tank. if it gets better you can keep or sell)
