Flat panel mount for articulating light mount.

I may have asked this before, but would something like this work for a couple Kessil A500x over a 150g? It would allw me to move the lights out of the way for maintenance which could be nice considering the tank is 30" deep.

A couple things come to mind when I see a mount like that ( there were a lot of people using this type of mounts when Radions first came out).
First, is the stretched out length going to hit the sweet spot over your tank? Is it going to look right?
Then the bolt holes on the mount bracket probably won't line up with the holes on the light. Are you comfortable working with say aluminum to make a bracket to adapt it?
I saw a bunch of different ones that used the same idea.
