Flex tubing options?

Hey guys, so in my return line I currently have clear flex tubing as part of the return (prior owner did it). Well with my fuge, that tubing is growing a decent amount of algae. Is colored flex tubing reef safe? Or is there a particular brand/type that would be required?

Wrap existing clear tubing with foil or other lignt blocker, masking tape.
Brs sells colored tubing.
No foil in water.

Wow…haha…I honestly never even thought of wrapping the existing tubing…saving money works for me. Thanks!
