I was two steps from purchasing this tank yesterday but I wanted the community opinion on potential problems. I'm concerned about Ph levels given lack of air exchange in this unique tank. This would be an office desk tank so i can bring my hobby with me to work every day too. I've seen a couple youtube videos of folks trying it out with a clownfish pair and thats what I wanted. I have a 20 long set up now with the clown fish pair and neon dottyback and they all seem to get along fine for the past 2 months. Plus mushroom/zoa/paly/leather/clove I already have ready to go. FYI this is a 6 gallon tank. Filteration for now would be a junk HoB till I can get afford the Tunze nano w/ATO. Light is a MH 70 pendant that I will modify to sit above the top glass.

I'd be worried about a completely enclosed tank with no oxygen exchange. It may be ok with the softies you want to keep, but still kinda iffy IMO. For the light, would you be retrofitting it inside the cover for the opening, or is it like a clamp on? To be honest, I think a clamp on halide would take away from the the clean look that you're trying to acheive with this tank, but you'd probably run into heat problems if you retrofit it. Also, how would you get the skimmer to hang on there? Would you be running the tank without that cover on the top?

It's a clip on MH and I would be cutting the back of the Fluval in a clean way, I think I may be able to come up with a compromise but I may not, thats a potentially sticky problem. Eventual skimmer would be in tank model, the tunzes are very small. Cover would go on the tank.
