Has anyone figured out an effective way to clean out heavy detritus from the rear chambers of the Fluval Evo (or any rear chambers for that matter)? I can remove lighter particles well enough with my python siphon but there is still plenty of debris left over that the siphon is not strong enough to lift.

If you take the end piece off the python and just use the hose, it will have stronger suction and will remove more.

i would start a syphon, then plug the flow, take a turkey baster and stir up all the crap and then let the syphon go again pulling from the water column. i would also use a 1/2 hose, will pull the water fast but the velocity is what you need. you could drain into a bucket thru a filter sock and just dump the water back in.

I do what rocks reef said and it seems to work well for me. If you're still having issues you could just purchase larger diameter tubing. The larger the diameter the better flow and suction force you'll have. But don't go too large as it'll also drain faster and be harder to prime.
