Hey All,

I can't find much info on these at all in terms of peoples PAR readings, lighting schedules and levels.

I am wondering if anyone out there uses them and has done any readings and could share their lighting settings. I know everyones set up is different, I just want to ensure I am in the right area. My tank looks great, no algae issues and corals have looked WAY healthier than when first purchased and put in the tank... But I want to make sure I am in the right ballpark. I could get a cheap PAR meter but then I am kinda stuck with something I may use once every few years... I prefer to spend that money on other lighting, equipment or preferably more corals! LOL

I guess reef 3.0 PAR readings and settings would be ok too. But really wanted to hear peoples 4.0 stuff. Also want to see if these things can even hit PAR readings for a MIXED reef tank. I do plan to upgrade them at some point in the next year OR I have thought about even just getting a blade to add to the Fluval OR even just putting one AI or Kessel above the side that I might put in a birds nest and another SPS or two because I was planning to keep them to one side and having more LPS or "swaying" things on the other end.

Any help would be great!

Sorry for the late reply. It's a 40 breeder and I have the Blue, Cyan and Purple at 100%, the red goes up to 20% I think for about 4 or 5 hours and the whites i used to run at 10% for 6 or 7 hours with slow ramps so there is always a little white.

My stuff looks decent.... but I will be adding more corals including some montis and chalise soon and acros etc further down the line. RIght now I have a GBTA sitting 2/3 the way up and it seems happy and healthy but I do feed it too... whereas I have heard with the right lighting you really shouldn't HAVE to feed it as light and filter feeding should be enough. Maybe I am wrong about the nem but I feed it regardless if it looks like it is stretching a bit for food, if it's bubbly I just filter feed the tank a little for the rest of the inhabitants.

I don't reallllly want to crank the white up super high which I heard you need too on the Marine 3.0. I am thinking to bump it up to 40% for 4 hours or so during the day when I am not around to maybe help the nem with it's colouring. Otherwise... I love the spread of the light, I get a little shimmer with my water movement (obv not kessil) and I have heard that the Reef 4.0 hits a good portion more of the blue side of spectrum than most other lights... they just don't have the UMPH to get the PAR.

I'm really thinking supplimentary lighting. Mainly looking at a kessil or something to just put ove rthe one side of the tank that will be SPS dominant with the Nem too and then the Fluval can just light the other side (with maybe a little overlap on the new light as it will be softy/euph dominant.
