Frag/ livestock table

Quick post with pics of my livestock tank build. This is my first saltwater setup and wanted to DIY as much as possible to save money for equipment upgrades and to get more hands on/ better understand why and how everything works. Tank has been running for roughly 1 year and 6 months. Will update with new recent pics. Receiving new BRS Ro/Di, will update after installation

50 gallon water trough
40 gallon B refu
40 gallon B sump

Waveline 10,000 DC return pump
Jebao RW-8 powerhead
500 watt finnex titanium heater/ digital control
Hydor ato with 30 gallon reservoir
Reef octopus classic 250 skimmer
~120 pounds LR (between sump/ref/main tank)
1 large marinepure block (8"x8"x4")
Pyle 20amp power strip
2 No name large led fixtures

Installed and setup new Ro/Di from BRS and put the water can on a table.

Installed new Reef Octopus BR-1000 ss bio pellet reactor
Plumbed direct to Reef Octopus 202 classic.

As you can see I'm dealing with a light algae issue, have since added a second powerhead for more flow to address the detritus buildup.

Removed the window well window and replaced with double insulated plywood panel and venting humidity directly outside. (This is a basement setup) *used to be a grow room

Separate timers for daylight over main tank, ref and moon lights

The new guy- hope to get the ref sand cleaned up a bit

Finally, my favorite colony thus far; Aussie Duncan started as 5 heads for $30.

Biopellets have been running for roughly 10 days. Phosphate has dropped significantly. Last week Tested .04-.06 ppm on Red Sea algae test kit. Tonight levels read .00-.02 on same test kit with very close attention to detail. Test again tomorrow to confirm lower readings.

Been way too long since my last sign in. Had power outage and tank suffered heavily. Back up and making a comeback. Installing Neptune apex hopefully this weekend. Currently working so just posting as a reminder to my self. Will be back for updates.

Removed refugium and repurposed as “display”.
Added 20 gallon to bottom for pod farm/ mangrove and Chaeto factory.
**20 not filled yet. Just finished plumbing before dinner was ready. Hope to hear and pre mix- fill tomorrow if all goes well
