i plan on trying to go to two frag swaps on the 21st and the 28th of march the one on the 21st is in Dayton and the other one is like outside of Columbus and I was wondering how much money would be good enough to get maybe 4-5 pieces from each ?

Hard to say.. Some frags are 10.00 while other are hundreds. Take your max budget that you want to spend and you can't go wrong.

Set a budget and stick to it. You'll go broke quick at one if your not careful. And know what your buying, most vendors and hobbiest have the ability to alter the lighting to suit your liking on the fly. Don't be scared to ask them to do so. But enjoy yourself and have fun!

Just remember not to get more than one house and car payment behind when you attend these things. :P

That bad huh! Have to remember that one. Heading to the one in Dayton myself. My wife will be with me so I doubt I will have any issues overspending unless she takes a bathroom break.

With smartphone and card readers for them even hobbyists can take plastic. Also most venues these are held at have ATMs so if you are one to go over board leave the plastic at home and carry only the cash you need. Know a guy who spent a couple grand at one, was not good for his rocky marriage.
Personally I ha e gone to ones where I spent less that $20, just nothing for me at it. Others were I hit my max and could have been the credit card guy as everything looked great.

I have only been to one swap and I didn't buy one thing. I did end up selling well over 200 frags though

Also, depending on the size to a quick lap and get an eye on what the vendors have. Also if you see items you like ask the price and keep going, you will often see huge price variations on the same coral from one vendor to the next. Now if you are looking for something rare don't wait around cause it might not be there later in the day. If you are just looking for good deals and don't care about getting the super duper rare stuff you can wait till the last few hours of the last day because that is when vendors will start slashing prices and cutting deals because the more they sell the less they have to bring back home.
