Frag tank Setup

Hi

Well i thought i would try my hand at growing out frags. I'm getting tiered of seeing ugly frag racks in my 2 display tanks. Also I'm hoping that this may offset my cost of reefing and i enjoy doing it but here we go

Frag tank 48x26x6 actual frag area. it is a AIO tank. I have the center section filled with live rock rubble about 15 pounds. I also through in a couple of pieces from my display sump. Tank is 38 Gallons. I will have a Reef Octopus HB90 on it in a few days also a tunze ATO. I put 2 Ocean Revive LED lights over it. anyway any suggestions ?

A good pest remover wrasse like a dusky or neon wrasse, and tons of emerald crabs to keep various algae at bay. About 20. When the time comes, some peppermint shrimp for aptasias removal.

Do it that way and you won't need a tang for algae removal.

The only thing I'm concerned about is the light intensity. Tank is only 6 inches deep. the lights are also 6 inches off the water on the brackets that came with the lights. I have the Intensity set to 50% right now. I ordered a Seneye reef monitor just so i can check par. but wont have that till late nextweek

Also placing the powerheads under the racks will give good flow, keep detritus from settling, allow for the racks to be higher which will reduce energy costs through being able to run lights at lower intensity, and keep algae from growing on the powerheads.

If i could get the power heads under there i would but the tank is only 6 inches deep so thats not going to happen. I will be sticking 2 power heads in but waiting for them to get here

Still need some kind of spacer or lift to keep them from directly contacting the bottom of the tank.

Can just use 4 small pieces of eggcrate on the corners.

I'm interested in this as well. I have similar lights I was going to use over a hydroponic trough for zoa propogation

I have the same plan, after the holidays I'm looking to get started so looking for ideas. Just for zoas
