Hi folks. I've had this frogspawn for nearly 2 weeks now, and whilst it's definitely started to expand more than it did on day 1, it's still not anywhere near where I think it's expected to expand (I think?).
On it's second day in my tank I moved it into the spot it's in now, shaded and with low flow to see if anything would change. It currently expands when the lights are on, but not enough to see any individual 'tentacles' of it :(
My tank is an Aqua One Minireef 160. I have 2 AI Primes over the tank (lighting schedule below). Return pump is an Aqua One Moray 3600 (pumps out 3600L/hr) and for in tank flow I use an Icecap gyre 1k on random pulsing, which never goes higher than 30% (or 300G/hr).
Alkalinity - 9.0
Calcium - 450
Magnesium - 1300
Salinity - 1.025
Ammonia and Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - between 0 and 5, need to upgrade from an API test for nitrate lol!
Phosphate - 0.3 (high, never ending or winning battle to lower it for my tank it seems)
Any help appreciated!
Apologies for the rubbish pic of the frogspawn. It was taken on my iPhone camera, just after the lights switched off. The amount it's expanded in the pic is the same as it does during the day and when the lights peak.
