I have 4 votes for Torch, 4 for Frogspawn, 1 for Octospawn and 1 for a Hammer Frogspawn hybrid...So, I guess I am no closer to actually knowing if it is Frogspawn or not. :(

I will try and post some clearer pics without blue lights tomorrow and see if that helps any.

If it's not clear, then its probably a hybrid. Frammer or florch maybe.

Just a quick update...

I was playing around with the lighting to get a better pic and I did notice that some of the tips do have multiple dots, (for lack of a better word) on them so it is definitely not a Torch. I guess it really is a Frogspawn or some hybrid of Frogspawn. I am glad because I have plenty of Torch's and Hammer's already and just needed a couple Frogspawn to complete my Euphyllia section.

Thanks to all that replied!

In your earlier picture, some tips have hammers, some are round like a torch and some have dots down the body. IMO, it is a hybrid. Frogspawn, hammer and torch are quiet distinct. It's hard to get them mixed up.

I agree with that since it definitely has characteristics of all three, but how is that possible? Does it occur in nature like that or did someone do some splicing of genes and how do they do that?

Torch is usually a single arm or tentacle if you will. Base to end point.

Frogspawn is much different in that the arm extends out of the base similar to a torch but has masses along its arm / tentacle which can resemble eggs.

Hammers resemble more to the torch again with the single arm or tentacle but the end point shaping a hammer or horizontal T look.

Of course this is over simplification but just do a search on them and look at the images. Frogspawn are pretty easy to tell apart from a torch. The arms/tentacles on the frogspawn are noticeably different.

I know what each of them look like as I have a few Torch's and I have a few Hammer's and I have 1 Frogspawn for sure and then there is this thing I am posting about. It looks like it could be all three and that is why I am confused and posted this.

So, in this pic this whole head looks like a Torch, (with the exception of a couple arms):
Possible Torch.jpg

The same pic, but this part looks like Hammers:
Possible Hammer.jpg

The same pic again, but these arms have multiple tips:
Possible Frogspawn.jpg

This is why I am confused...

At least this post has had one positive outcome. After seeing a few pics of this so called "Octospawn" I need to get me one!

I have 2 framers that look like that. That's how I know :). I have never seen a torch hybrid.

Do you like the coral? That’s all that really matters.
Not really. Torch and octo prices are much higher compare to hammer, frogspawn and hammer hybrid. So you gotta know what you are buying. Moreover, if it is a torch, you dont want it to be close to other corals because it will sting and kill other corals. My friend lost a 2"×4" colony of ultra rainbow acan because it got stung by the indo torch.
