Frustrated with Xr-15 tank mount

So as I’m setting up the radion g4 xr-15 pro on my Biocube I’m realizing the tank mount won’t fit anywhere on the back rim. There’s a pinhole that’s blocking the mount from connecting as you can see in the picture. Can I just cut this thing for the pins to connect to off so I can put the mount on? When I just tried to mount it over the pin hole thing i could literally hear the trim coming off.
