This is copied from another post here on R2R but wanted to post it here as well. updated pic at the bottom too.

I have tweaked my AI Hydra 26HD settings to be more like what BRS is talking about in their video following the AB+ method. Although I have not tested par as I do not have a Par meter to test it. I would love to hear some thoughts on this setup. and as of right now this is on a new setup with nothing in the tank so I have nothing to even gauge this on.

Tell me what you think. If you are interested I can share this as well.

These are setup for 2 Hydra 26HDs on a 90G tank so I set the numbers a little higher on the UV and Blue channels to get deeper into the 24" depth of the tank.

Here's a pic of the tank at the time posted above to see. I did make the whites a little brighter to make the tank easier on the eyes but will have to reevaluate once something is in the tank.

Well added 1st frag today, a Zoanthid with at least 22 heads. Only 5 are open at the time of the pic but a bunch more have opened since taking it. I need to ID it because couldn't tell colors under LFS lights but under mine at 50% can really see the colors starting to pop.

Here's a pic just after putting it in.

Added a couple more corals today. Found a nice looking Bird's Nest and a Purple Gorgonian. I believe the BN is a Neon green but I am not positive. Let me know what you think. And the Gorgonian I was told should be in low light and med-high flow so should do well in placement.

Tank is looking good! I am still leaning zoas but not 100% those are gorilla nipples. I thought they have more purple in them. I could be wrong though.

Update 11/4/17

Got 2 new additions, A green Hammer and a Clove poylp.

hammer1.jpg

clove2.jpg

FTS:

Day57.jpg

All parameters are OK. I have added some GFO & Carbon in a reactor to lower PO4 plus running carbon denitrator.

ph - 8.0
dKh = 8.9
mg - 1440
Ca - 470
SD - 1.025
NO3 - <10
PO4 = .104 but dropping
Temp - 78

Everybody is happily extending polyps but very little growth that I can see. Monti's are looking a little white in spots but are extending some tiny blue polyps. Not sure if that means they are going to grow into where they are producing or if it's actually bleaching.... Time will tell. :)

I'm so glad you painted over that wood grain plastic trim. Had me worried when I saw the first pics!
Is that pond liner under your sump? Good idea. I did something similar in the bottom of my stand - now I just need to get leak sensor set up in there.

Thanks @don_chuwish. Actually it's just contact paper. Wasn't sure I wanted to paint it so I added that to test it, just haven't gotten around to painting it yet. I do like it and that is my plan. as well as maybe paint the stand too.

The liner is shower liner from Lowes. I figured why not add a level of leak protection although it won't overflow from a power outage. If/when power goes out only the return section fills and my standby generator kicks on in 10 sec after an outage. I am still thinking of getting a battery backup to plug pump into so it won't stop for that 10 seconds.

My Bird's Nest was bumped off his perch and I ended up putting him back differently. Now I can't tell growth on pics.
I can see it is fattening but doesn't seem to be getting longer. What does this mean? Too much flow not enough light?

Have to wait and see I guess.

Got my Seneye in yesterday and did a preliminary PAR test in my tank to see the values. I have turned down my UV & Purple settings to see if that was why my Monti's were looking bad but I didn't know what PAR they were at. Here's a pic of my levels, this is an older photo but placement is about the same

PAR1.jpg

So the Monti's are at 175 - 228 PAR.... Too much or not enough? Should I turn the UV & Purple back up?
